The Civil Rights Act of 1968

On April 11th of 1968, President Lindon Johnson signed the Fair Housing Act, also referred to as title VIII of the Civil Rights Act of 1968, into law.

This law was one of the culminations of the Civil Rights Movement and established equal housing opportunity regardless of race, religion or national origin.
