This project was completed during the autumn of 2018 for a History/American Studies course at Middlebury College titled "Vermont Life's Vermont: A Collaborative Web Project." The course revolved around examining the magazine Vermont Life over the years and exploring the various messages that the magazine spread through the use of several technologies. For our final project, we decided to explore the ways in which race was, or wasn't, mentioned within the magazine. This website was intended to share with the public the ways in which Vermont Life passed judgement on a controversial subject during a controversial time, even as it claimed not to.
